The substance on the surface is white and in process it'll rocks. As a result,  the present Pamukkale is occured.

Let’s look at the other information of Pamukkale. How has been called as Pamukkale?  Where is it? Also, what are the historical places of Pamukkale? Now, we will learn them step by step. The name of Pamukkale comes  from its shape and color. Because it’s like  a ‘cotton (cotton: pamuk)’ white and refreshing  and additionaly it’s like a ‘castle (castle:kale)’ stepwise high building. So well, where is the wonder of nature? Pamukkale is in Denizli, in Turkey. It located 19 km north from the centre. This is 2700 meters length and 160 meters high. You can see the white castle from 20 km away. Let’s move on historical places. The top of the Pamukkale, there is a ancient city ‘Hierapolis’. What are expected the there to us? These are:

                    Apollo Temple

The place which is ancient religious centre, Apollo met the mother goddes Cybele. The temple established on the ancient Plutonion –religious cave- .

Ancient Theater

The theater which has 50 benches that is divided 7 parts with 8 steps. It started to establish in 62 AD and then  it finished, in 206 AD.

 

·        Laodikeia

Laodikeia located the south of Lykos (the name of river as Turkish ‘Çürüksu’). The city established in 261-263 AD and the name of ‘Laodikeia’ come from the wife of  II.Antiokhos. In that time, Laodikeia was one of the so popular city and because of that case it has a lots of historical artworks.

 

         Pamukkale  is waiting the visitors with  hot and healty water, great natural view and historical places.
